Storm Season Ends

Carson's baseball season was ending.  Today was his last game.  We all went as a family to watch.  My parents came down to cheer him on as well.

Carson is very good to volunteer to be catcher.

Hanging out with my sweet girl

Yes, in order to get her to sit for a while, she played with my phone.

June

So we have been MIA basically for the whole month of June. Here's a quick recap as to what was going on last month:

We got a patio table.  The kids are testing it out by eating lunch outside.
Abby showing off her new Flying Squirrels hat
Carson with his hat.  We went to a game as a family, but it got rained out after the second inning and we didn't take any pictures.  Go figure.
Carson had his last t-ball game.  He made some good plays and even got someone out.  So proud of him!
The team mom offered to host an end of season swim party at her house.  It was a big hit with the boys!
Carson loves having a new trophy to put in his room.
Would you believe how tall Carson's stalk of corn got?!  It even has an ear of corn on it.
What do you do when your power goes out for 23 hours?  Dig out all the puzzles you own and let the kids have puzzle contests!
 Always into mischief.
Her hair is constantly in her face, but she doesn't seem to care.
What do you eat when you have no power, and the grocery stores and restaurants also have no power?  Kool ade, strawberries, cherries and cupcakes (basically all Andrew was able to buy at the one store that was open).   We also ate mac n cheese (not pictured).
Andrew's answer to toasting a pop tart without a toaster.  Thank goodness for a gas range!
The East Coast was hit with a MASSIVE heat wave for the past few weeks.  On one of these days was our ward Daddy Daughter camp out.  Andrew didn't want to camp, but decided to take Abby for the festivities, then come home to sleep.  Here she is with her face paint that she got at the Children's Museum earlier that day.
The girls were running through sprinklers at the camp out.  Andrew and Abby made it home right before another GIANT storm hit the area.  10 minutes after I finished giving her a bath, the power went out AGAIN.  Twice in the space of 3 days.
Our incredibly awesome neighbors across the street offered to share their generator with us so we could plug in our fridge.  So we strung extension cords across the street and Andrew duck taped them down.  I took the kids that night to a hotel and Andrew stuck it out at home.  The power came on later that night, but it was still mighty hot for a while.  Plus we got hit with ANOTHER giant storm.  Luckily, the power stuck it through that time.

And that was our June.  At least what I documented.  :-)

T-Ball Season is Here!

T-Ball Season has begun.  This year, Carson is on the Bats.  He is lucky enough to not only be on the same team as his friend Alex, but Alex's dad is the Head Coach and Andrew is an Assiatant Coach.

Carson is #6.  These are some of the boys warming up before a game.  Any guesses as to who got the sponsor for their team?  :-)

The second video is kind of long.  It's Andrew helping Carson out with second base.
Not the best pictures.  My zoom was maxed out and I was over by first base trying to take these pictures over a fence.  He's off to first base!

We are so proud of our little slugger and look forward to many baseball games cheering him on.  Go Bats!

Last t-ball game

Carson up to bat at his last t-ball game of the season (6/11/11)

Good form!

Heading for home

Great season Carson!!  He got a trophy at the end of the game which is now sitting next to his soccer trophy in his room.  I look forward to watching many more baseball games with this little guy.

T-ball

This spring we signed Carson up to play t-ball.  He chose that over playing soccer again.  He is on the Grasshoppers Team.  Yes, they are orange.  Not sure why.
Here he is on opening day.  They had a parade wtih all the teams in the league.

Carson's #6.  We waited around FOREVER before they started the parade.  So Coach Katie was having them act like different animals to keep them occupied.  Great way to keep them distracted and not going stir crazy from standing around for so long.

Playing his first game.  Carson was 2nd baseman.  Since no one could really hit the ball past the pitchers mound, he was chatting with runners from the other team and enjoyed spinning around until he got dizzy and fell over.  That's my guy!

Waiting his turn to go up to bat.  I was flying solo this game, so I didn't get a picture of him hitting.  We only got through 2 innings before the rain came.
Go Grasshoppers!!!
