Memorial Day 2014

We started off Memorial Day by having a flag ceremony outside.  This helped pass off a Wolf requirement for Cub Scouts.

After our flag ceremony, we decided to go strawberry picking.  When we got there, the owners told us that they had a rather large group come picking over the weekend.  So berries were harder to find.  We decided to go picking anyway and did really well!

Kayla had fun running up and down the rows collecting the berries that everyone else found.

We also pick up honey whenever we are here.  So much better than what you get at the grocery store!

The kids love the playground at the farm.

We made some strawberry jam and had homemade waffles that night for dinner.  Yum! (Best waffle recipe found here: Sour Cream Waffles)
Right before bedtime, Andrew decided it would be fun to have the kids go play in the sprinklers.  Such a fun dad!

Her face says it all!

Christmas 2013

We had a really fun Christmas this year!  We were able to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at our house, then we went to my parents for a few days to spend time with my family.

The kids were able to see Santa at a ward Christmas Party

Our Elf decided to take pictures of himself with each of the kids before he went back to the North Pole

Since he is so sneaky, he did it while they were sleeping.

Then he left a copy of each picture by the kids stockings.  It was a fun treat for them!

Some after present pictures at our house

Present time at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Not the best picture of me, but it's one of the few we have.  Getting chubby!

Mallory, Justin and baby Kaylee were able to be there this year!

This little one has learned to walk and was very fun to watch toddle around the house

I love this picture!  It reminds me of a picture of Carson and Landon

Love these girls!

Carson got a new white shirt and tie.

Merry Christmas everyone!

November in 1 post

I am trying really hard to get caught up on the blog.  So in an effort to do so, here is our November all in one blog post!

November 2: Free Monster Pancakes day at IHOP (it was originally supposed to be on Halloween, but they had some issues that day and had to close, so they honored it all weekend)

November 4: Here I am at 15 weeks pregnant.  This was a very rare day when I was feeling good, so I actually got dressed that day!  Which is also another reason why this is the first pregnancy picture I have bothered taking.

November 9: A certain little girl found some of my lipstick and decided to give it a try

November 12: Abigail's class was celebrating 50s Day at school and she really wanted to wear a poodle skirt that day

Me, being the super cool mom that I am, went out the day before and bought all the stuff to make this skirt for her.  Thank goodness for awesome online tutorials!

November 15: Carson's 2nd grade class was having their Fall Enrichment (they aren't allowed to officially have parties, so they call them enrichments).  Each class was doing a different activity.  His class was writing letters to the troops.  My job was to hand out stickers.  :-)

It was really fun to be in his class and see all the cool things he is learning/working on.  He is in a reading group with a few other kids in the class and it's like a mini book-club.  They read fun chapter books and discuss them.  He loves it!

November 26: Abigail's class had their Thanksgiving Feast.  Each kindergarten class made a "feast" of chicken nuggets, biscuits, chocolate pudding, peas, popcorn and trail mix.  They also tie dyed shirts to look like deer skin shirts, made pilgrim hats and Indian head bands, necklaces, and made drums.  It's a big event and I was lucky enough to get to attend/help!
Each child got to say what they were thankful for.  Abigail said she was thankful for her fish.

All the kids chose an Indian name.  Abby chose "Happy Bunny."
