The Great Blizzard of 2009

We got "blessed" with 22 inches of snow last Saturday. Which meant that we spent the weekend stuck at home. So what does one do when there is almost 2 feet of snow outside? Put on your snow pants and head outside! We bundled up the kids in their snow clothes and ventured out for some good play time. It was Abby's first time doing the whole snow thing. She did really well. The wind was blowing pretty hard on Saturday but she stuck it out. Although she didn't like it when she fell over and couldn't get back up by herself.

Carson was in heaven! He jumped in, rolled around and had a blast getting stuck everywhere he went. Thankfully we have nice neighbors who saved him when he got stuck over by their house.
Just to give you some perspective as to what this storm was like, check it out.
Andrew marking our measurement at around 8:45 pm. The snow didn't stop falling until later that night. Andrew standing out in the snow. After we took this picture, I convinced him to dive into the snow. He went all out and dove face first. Can you guess what this is? The mound on the left is our barbeque. The mound on the right is a table with a plant on it. The snow next to our back door. That's a magazine next to the door.

Our neighbors cars Sunday morning. Not only did we get snowed in, but the snow plows made some nice piles behind all the cars. Lots of neighborly bonding trying to dig everyone out.

That's a ton of snow. I remember when it snowed like that for us in Spokane last year. Did you make it to church or was it canceled?

A picture really is worth a thousand words sometimes.

Amazing to see that amount of snow fall in such a short time period! Wow, it looks like the kids were in heaven.
