Camping trip

Well the Baird family took their first ever camping trip last weekend. We went on a little overnighter with about 5 other families in our ward. It was a lot of fun! We bought a tent, borrowed some sleeping bags from my parents and dug out our wedding camping stuff and had a good time. Carson loved it because he was surrounded with lots of kids his age. Just about everyone that went is also going with us to the Outterbanks. So we had a pre trip meeting and had a chance to get to know everyone better. I am not normally a camper, but I was willing to try a one night thing. We were lucky that the campsite we were at had running water, flush able toilets and showers. So not totally ruffing it, but close enough. We were out in Luray, VA by the Shenandoah River. At our campsite you could go on canoeing and tubing trips down the river. Would have been fun, but not with a 21 month old baby. Maybe we can make this a yearly thing. (Don't worry, there are no photos of me in this post. You do not want to see how I look after spending a night in a tent. Yikes!!)

Carson "walking through fire"

In the morning sun. It was a little chilly in the morning.

The Breakfast crew and mess

Roaming with dad through our campsite. Carson could not sit still at all during this trip. He had the best time being outside for a whole 2 days.

Our cute little tent. It held a pack-n-play, a queen air mattress, 2 sleeping bags and a bunch of crap that we thought we needed to survive one night in the "wild." With room to spare. Gotta love Kmart!
