Virginia Beach

After surviving an earthquake AND a hurricane all in the same week, we decided to get out of Dodge and head down to the beach!  Isn't that where everyone goes after a hurricane hits?  It's not?  Well it should be because it was awesome!!
Carson and Abigail at a sand castle statue on the boardwalk

Kayla and I spent most of our time hanging out in the beach tent.  She enjoyed eating sand a little too much to let her play on the beach for long periods of time.

The kids met a little girl from Montreal (who only spoke French) and had a grand time playing with her.  They are playing beach games with the dads.  Luckily her parents spoke both English and French to help translate.  My high school French was pretty pathetic.

Abby won!

Kayla and I playing with the camera in the tent.  She is currently eating Carson's baseball hat.

And the cord on the camera.

You can see some of the "stuff" left on the beach after the hurricane.  Lots of sticks

On our way home we stopped at the Virginia Aquarium and Science Center.  The shark tank wasn't nearly as cool as one in Baltimore.  But still a fun place to go.

Kayla was very pleasant that day.  She had just gotten a new tooth!
