Thanksgiving

We still don't have a new camera, and I'm not very good at remembering to download the pictures off the camcorder. So our thanksgiving post is a little belated. The Saturday before,we all went up to my parents house to watch the BYU/Utah game...which must never be spoken of again. Such a horrible game. Andrew went home that night and I stayed with the kids. We enjoyed many days of shopping and watching bad Disney movies.

On Tuesday, I drove down to pick Andrew up from work and we went to the Washington Wizards game. His work has a box at the Verizon Center, so we had some sweet seats for the game. Would you believe that the Wizards actually won?! Who woulda thunk it with their horrible record. It was nice to have a night out away from the kids and have some adult conversation. Andrew even bought me cotton candy. What a guy!
When the game was over, we figured that we could either wait in the parking garage forever before our car could get out, or we could sit in the cushy suite until our car could get out of the parking garage. So we chose the suite. I read a magazine, while Andrew and some co-workers talked "accounting lingo" that I couldn't understand. After 30 minutes, the garage was all but empty, so it was smooth sailing back to grandma's house.
Thursday was a busy day. My mom and sister got up early to brine the turkey (which if you have never done before, you really should because the turkey tastes 1000% better) and I was put in charge of the cranberry sauce and jell-o...both very important aspects of the thanksgiving meal. Andrew tried to get pictures of the preparations, but no one would look at him. After we gorged ourselves on food and pie, we thought about going to see a movie, but with Bettridge tradition of being lazy on holidays, that idea never turned into action.
Abby's Thanksgiving dinner consisted of rice cereal and some baby veggies. She didn't like the turkey and sweet potato baby food that mommy brought.
And of course, Carson rejected the thanksgiving food (except for his mommy's fabulous jello) and opted for Velveeta Shells N Cheese.
Friday night we helped my parents put up their Christmas tree. We will be traveling quite a bit for Christmas, so we opted not to put our tree up this year. It was fun for Carson to help grandma and grandpa this year.

Wow! What a great time you had! Lexi at least would eat the turkey (dipped in gravy) and a roll. Forget even trying the other things. Especially the mashed potatoes, she doesn't eat those at all. Period.

That's nice your parents let you help with the tree. What are your Christmas traveling plans? Whatever they may be, we hope you have fun and are safe.

Is the the same tree we used to have? It seems smaller to me in that picture...
